learn, life-long learning, listen, pay attention, willingness, openness
Tara: Is there anything you’d like to say to teachers about the ways they connect with LGBTQ families or students?
Robin: I think the biggest thing that I would like to say to anybody is that there’s nothing wrong with not knowing.
Tara: Right.
Robin: I think it’s important to learn. And, I mean, as a teacher, a homeschooling teacher granted, but as a teacher, I think one of the biggest pluses out of all of this is that I didn’t know what I didn’t know. And, I have learned a lot. But, I’m still learning. And, there’s a lot out there. And, the kids? They know. They know what they want, they know what they need. We just need to listen to them. And, that would be my biggest take on that: is if we actually listen, they will tell us.
