Tara: So Elena is just starting, and you’re about to begin the whole journey again. What have you done, if anything to let uh, the school know about your uh, family so that uh, Elena is set up um, for uh, for a good experience? Or uh, is that still to come?
Karleen: Um, well I told, uh, in all the cases I told the kindergarten teachers right away...
Tara: Yup.
Karleen: “Look um, do you have books that include like gay families or interesting gender stuff?” And one thing that I’ve been frustrated with is, um… uh... I can’t, uh I’m having trouble finding French books. I have all the English books in the world, uh but I’m having trouble finding French books, kids books, so you know that whole two-solitude thing.
