Tara: When you ah, got ready to send Ely to school and then Tristin to school, is there any work that you felt you needed to do with the school? Uh, how did you get ready to send your boys to school?
Zena: Um, I think, I think for me, um, I think the only preparation really that I did was kind of similar to what Ely was talking about is um, getting to know some of the people um, I mean, we’ve been in the village since the boys were born and they went to day care around the corner. So, usually, all of, you get to know all of the kids and the families. And we’re kind of, we’re (air quotes) active in the village in the sense that we’re always kind of out and about. Like, we’re either running about (Pa chuckles) or you know, we’re out with the boys, um, walking around. And Pa’s the more sociable one so, she’s usually, you know, talking to somebody and saying “hi”. So, I think we just got to know people and when the boys started going to Wortley, we’d be participating in various uh, functions with the boys, like they would have the bar-be-ques and that--
Pa: Yep.
Zena: and we’d be chatting with people. And you get to know uh, you know, the parents. We got to know the teachers, we’d talk to the parents to find out what the teachers were like.
