Tara: Was it a surprise to you when um, Stella became Stella? Or did you always think that it was possible for Stella to become Stella?

Emily: I didn’t think it was… like it wasn’t really surprising, because like… I didn’t exactly see it coming, but it, we knew it could have led to that, so.

Tara: Right. Right. And how about for you Gray?

Gray: I don’t know. Like eventually, the steps. Yeah, there were steps taken over time. Kinda, yeah.

Tara: Right. And so as a family, would you -

Darwin: Hey what about me?

Tara: Sorry! Okay you. Was it surprising when Stella became Stella?

Darwin: I didn’t see it coming.

Tara: You didn’t see it coming?

Darwin: Yeah. I didn’t see it coming.

Tara: So it was a bit of a surprise?

Darwin: Yeah.

Tara: Okay thank you for that. Um, as a family did you talk a little bit uh, about what it would mean to support Stella as Stella?

Darwin: Yes.

Tara: Yeah? Do you remember what you talked about?

Darwin: Stella.

Tara: Yeah, that make sense. How about you Em and Gray? Do you know what, do you remember what kinds of things your family talked about?

Emily: I remember it was like about Christmas break, and we got Tim Hortons and Stella was like “I wanna be Stella.” And then we were like chatting about how that, that was good, and that Stella wanted to be a girl now, and she wanted to be named Stella, and how we should support her like we always do.

Tara: Right.

Emily: And it wasn’t that different from what was going on. She would just be a girl now.

Tara: Right, right, right, right. How about you Gray? Anything that you want to stay about that?

Gray: They just kind of told us to be supportive of her and not do a little crazy.

Tara: Right. And that’s not hard to do.

Gray: Yeah.
