Max: Okay. Well, Ryan and I met in 2007?
Ryan: Yep 2007.
Max: Ryan had a daughter named Tay. And we met playing ball hockey and then like a few… we moved into together. And uh, we were kind of reluctant, I was kind of reluctant to meet his daughter until i knew that we were actually, like it was something serious. I’d come from divorced families and I understood the bond that happens very quickly when… in those scenarios.
Ryan: He had just come out of a divorce.
Max: I had just also come out of a divorce so, I...
Ryan: So he didn’t want a relationship
Max: Yeah
Ryan: That was the reluctance.
Max: Yeah that was the reluctance. I didn’t want a relationship and I was like really trying to fight it, but, you know all those boxes got ticked and I was just like aw, okay this is happening. So eventually, I uh, met her and just so quickly fell in love with her and to this day I say that I wish I could have actually you know, been the biological mother. But, you know, I’ll take you know, the proxy.
Tara: Right.
Max: That’s okay. And then um we moved in and then uh, we moved in here. We went on vacation and then our … we conceived in France actually on vacation...
Ryan: Because, yes, Samantha was born 2009 and we moved in here about a week before that.
Max: Yeah.
Tara: Intense.
Max: Yeah, that was intense. I was like get in the house, get everything ready! Hurry! And then it happened.
Ryan: And then yeah, Nicholas came along about four and a half years ago. And yeah, so we’ve been cruising along since then.
Tara: So, the kids are what age now?
Max: So Nicholas, our youngest is four and a half. He likes the half you know. And then Samantha is seven and then Tay is 18.
